3 suspects at large after attempted robbery

University of Minnesota police were still hunting for three suspects Tuesday after an attempted robbery took place on campus early Saturday.

UMPD reports the incident took place at around 1 a.m. on Oak Street Southeast near the McNamara Alumni Center. The victim was not a U student.

The victim was walking on the sidewalk when three suspects approached her and then pushed her to the ground, assaulted her, and then tried unsuccessfully to steal her purse.

The suspects then fled south toward Washington Avenue. The victim was not seriously injured and did not need medical attention, police said. UMPD has not yet released a description of the suspects.
