The body of a young adult woman was pulled from the Mississippi River around 7 p.m. Wednesday, Rebecca Gilbuena of the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office announced.

But the sheriff’s office said it could not confirm if the body is that of  22-year-old University of Minnesota student Jennifer Houle.

“The Hennepin County Medical Examiner is responsible for identifying and releasing the name of the victim,” Gilbuena said in her release to the media.

She added there would be no further information released by the sheriff’s office on Wednesday night.

The department’s water patrol found the body roughly a quarter mile south of the 10th Avenue bridge. Police have cordoned off an area near the Bohemian Flats on West River Parkway.

A search for Houle’s body has been underway since Sunday after discovery of video surveillance images showed her going off the 10th Avenue bridge into the water. Houle had gone missing in the wee hours of last Friday morning after leaving a Dinkytown bar.
