Valentines Day is this tomorrow, and if you still don’t have your plans laid out, here’s something that might just save the day. Art show promoter Ken O’Brian and Chow Girls Killer Catering and art gallery owner Heidi Andermack are putting on their Valentine Market art show in NE Minneapolis on Saturday.

The market will feature everything from necklaces made out of vintage bottle caps from around the world to unique hand made cards to organic dog treats and baked goods. Fifteen artists will be featured, all with their own specialty.

O’Brian said he likes to do pop-up shows, but this one was particularly exciting because he is working with such a variety of artists to create an art market while maintaining the feel of an art show. He worked with artists he’s unfamiliar with just to provide that variety.

“A lot of these people wouldn’t necessarily be seen together at the same art market,” said O’Brian. “Everyone at the market is an artisan no matter what their craft is, and it’s local.”

Featured artist Nicole Mautz is creator of CAPtivating Designs. She repurposes bottle caps into jewelry and various items said she enjoys O’Brian’s shows because of the diversity.

“Ken puts these little pop ups together every now and then. He partners with someone who knows what they’re doing, and there’s always new artists there,” she said.

O’Brian said the end result is more than just an art market for the sake of Valentines Day. “What it’s about is just bringing people out to meet the artist. That’s my biggest accomplishment,” he said.

Chow Girls will have a special Valentines Day themed cocktail as well as other drinks for purchase. Chow Girls will also be providing samplers from their catering service. The event is from 11-4 p.m.
