GiveMN will host the sixth annual Give to the Max Day on Thursday, Nov.13 — a 24-hour online fundraiser for charities all over Minnesota.

The organization is encouraging individuals to support their favorite cause by donating money during the online fundraising marathon.

Starting Nov. 1, individuals can participate in scheduled giving. They can go to GiveMn.org, search for a cause to support, visit the organization’s website and select the scheduled giving option on the donation form.

This way, even if individuals are not able to give on Nov. 13, they can still participate.

On Nov. 13, individuals can search their favorite cause on GiveMN.org, find an organization to donate to and fill out the donation form.

Since the donation leader boards were a hit with donors in past years, GiveMN is bringing them back this year.

“Minnesotans may be polite, but we’re also fierce competitors,” GiveMN said on their website.

This year’s Give to the Max Day has a few new features. GiveMN has collaborated with Metro Transit for the event and will have representatives at downtown bus and train stops giving out green hats and scarves and offering thousands of dollars in prize incentives to benefit Minnesota nonprofits and schools.

If individuals are wearing green they will have a chance to win prize incentives for their favorite cause or $20 Metro Transit Go-To cards.

Give MN will also hand out free on-the-go breakfast snacks and hot cocoa at the stops during the morning.

Individuals can also print a special Metro Transit pass from GiveMN.org and receive a free ride home on any form of transit except Northstar and no donation is required.

GiveMN is also making changes to it’s website this year to provide a fully optimized site.

Some of the changes include a fresh new look for the websites by the addition of GiveMN leader boards, a countdown clock and a matching gifts tracker.

Participating organizations will also now be allowed only one photo where in the past they could have more. This will allow for simpler page content so the site will load faster.
